Walk to the Falls

Dear Lord -- Thank You for Your patience and sense of humour when dealing with me. I often fail and make mistakes but You are always there to help. I pray You never leave me. In Jesus' name.

This past week, my family enjoyed a two-day trip to Niagara Falls. My husband worked while I walked with the kids to all the sites around the falls. We took a ride up the Skylon, took a tour of Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, and took in the stunt of the tight-rope walker. The weather was stunning and the falls did not disappoint. But what I liked the most was the time spent walking. By the end of the day, my legs felt the workout and I gladly fell into bed. The kids did too. With all the walking, I also didn't feel guilty about the extra treats and buffet yummies I indulged in.

Tip #33:
Every 3500 calories consumed beyond your energy needs equals a gain of one pound of body fat. Therefore, a loss of 3500 calories is necessary to lose one pound of fat. However, short-term dieting does not work -- it is not only about eating less but eating differently.

The Lord is slow to anger and great in power (Nahum 1:3 NIV.)
