Get it where you can

Dear Lord -- I pray protection over me and my family, especially over the summer holidays as we venture into new activities and to new places. In Jesus' name, I pray.

With summer here, my schedule is no longer my own. My routine has run amock and I must cater to my children first. But this is okay. As far as exercise goes, I get it where I can. I join my son for a game of badminton in our backyard. I work my leg muscles with a weight training workout with a girlfriend as our children play together. I bike around the block with my daughter. I walk with my husband as the sun sets in the evening. It's not the same routine, but I am still keeping active living as a priority.
How can you keep your activity level up?

Tip #31:
Your optimal calorie intake needs depend on how much you weigh, how much muscle you have, and how much you exercise. For a woman who exercises moderately, 1800 to 2000 calories is a safe estimate. If you go below this amount, your metabolism (the rate at which you burn calories) may slow down.

Who is a God like You, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7: 18-19 NIV)
